The compulsory outing for a summer in Sydney – beach trip. A week or so ago, though it was an overcast day, we headed to the coast with friends. It was the first beach trip where Mr. 17 months actually got near the waves (just to dip his feet in). Watching him react to the new situation was just priceless.
Edited to add:
Posting about a family day at the beach all seems a little superficial in the context of the devastating floods in Queensland. Kelly, at www.beafunmum.com has posted today about her family’s experiences in Toowoomba. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the disaster. We are praying for some relief soon for all those involved.

You know, it’s actually refreshing to read something that’s not about the flooding…
For days now, while I keep the Harvey Three at home (my husband is working still) and away from any water, the news is constantly playing in the background and I can’t seem to update the QLD Police Facebook page fast enough…
And boy, do I feel guilty about not being able to go out and fill sand bags or help people… I even feel a bit guilty (but very thankful!) that we are all OK and our suburb is not really affected by the flooding…
The best thing about today, even though we are bracing for a king tide this afternoon to back up the peaking of the river early this morning?
The sun is shining and that’s a great start to today :)
